A magnitude-4.5 earthquake has shaken a remote desert region in central California. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage
The quake struck Tuesday at 2:41 p.m. It was centered six miles south of Keeler, a small unincorporated town next to Owens Lake between the Eastern Sierra and the Inyo Mountains..
Keeler is about 200 miles northeast of Los Angeles.
In 2009, the region was rattled by a series of quakes – the largest a magnitude-5.2.
