Motorcycle Plunges 60 Feet Over Side Of Highway 74

Cal Fire and California Highway Patrol officers were on the scene of a motorcycle that plunged off the side of Highway 74 on Wednesday.

Officers and paramedics responded to the call on Highway 74 near the junction with Highway 371 near Anza when it came it at 10:51 a.m.

The motorcycle rider was on 371 and apparently lost control, skidding off the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Firefighters spent several hours trying to extricate the victim, who suffered major injuries in the crash, according to the fire department.

He was taken by helicopter to a desert-area trauma center.
