Truck Crash Closes Highway 74, Opens Hours Later
A SUV carrying an 18 foot trailer overturned about 2:30 Sunday afternoon up on highway 74, near the vista point. The crash blocked both up and downbound lanes for hours, according to CHP.
It’s unknown what caused the truck to flip. The driver of the truck suffered only minor injuries.
Crews worked for hours clearing the road. One lane was opened about 4:30. Both lanes were reopened about 5, but traffic was slow going for hours afterwards.
According to CHP, parts of the wreckage was left behind, on the side of the road. Clean up crews will be there Monday morning to take what’s left away.
