House Fire in Palm Springs Under Investigation

An early morning house fire in Palm Springs caused an estimated $150,000 in damage.

It broke out about 2:15 Sunday morning, at a home on the 2000 block of Via Escuela.

Thirteen firefighters responded, finding heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage area. The blaze quickly spread into the kitchen. In addition to the fire damage, smoke destroyed much of the house.

The house was searched for anyone living there, but nobody was found. Firefighters believe the home was a rental and unoccupied at the time.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
