Indio Bank Held Up By Lone Robber

Police are searching for a man who witnesses said robbed a US Bank branch in Indio on Tuesday.

The robbery happened around 12:30 p.m. at the branch located on Highway 111 at the corner of Monroe, according to Indio police spokesman Ben Guitron.

A bank teller said a man walked up to her window and told her he had weapons and explosives, and he would use them if she didn’t give him money.

Witnesses told police the man got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was hurt.

Detectives were on the scene shortly afterward collecting evidence and interviewing those who were inside the bank at the time.
