Late Winter Storm Brings Snow

Heavy snow was reported on Interstate 10 and Highway 60 between Moreno Valley and Beaumont today.

Caltrans snowplows were called out of the mountains to remove snow and slush from both freeways in the San Gorgonio Pass, the only road links between the Los Angeles and Riverside areas and the desert resort cities.

In the mountains, chains were required on state Route 74 between San Jacinto and the Coachella Valley. Chains were also required on roads and highways in the Idyllwild area.
