Desert Hot Springs church fire caused by exhaust fan
An exhaust fan in the women’s restroom may have caused a fire that prompted eight fire engines to respond to a Desert Hot Springs church on Monday.
Cal Fire investigators said there appeared to be a short in the fan, which sparked a fire in the attic of Grace Church around 3:10 p.m.
Firefighters managed to put the fire out in about 10 minutes, but not before the smoke and flames caused $10,000 in damages.
No one was hurt.
