Men convicted of La Quinta murder
A Lakewood resident and his friend were convicted today of the financially motivated murder of the man’s 70-year-old sister at her La Quinta home.
James Charles Oudin, 74, and Wesley Elwin Gibbs Jr., 46, of Hesperia, were convicted of first-degree murder for financial gain in the death of Oudin’s sister, Judy Munson. The jury deadlocked on a conspiracy charge.
The victim, who owned two successful cleaning businesses, was found in her home by her housekeeper on June 11, 2011. She had been killed the previous day.
