Snowboarder Bandit Linked To Palm Springs Bank Robbery

The Snowboarder Bandit earned the moniker because of the ski type clothes he wore to disguise himself in most of theten bank robberies he’s suspected of committing in Orange County between December 20th of last year and March 5th.

Now after comparing bank surveillancefootage, the FBIand the Palm Springs Police department suspect the Snowboarder Bandit is responsible for a bank robbery in Palm Springs late Friday morning at the BBVACompass Bank at 420 S. Palm Canyon Drive.

In therobbery, no ski apparel. Instead, he was caught on camera wearing a baseball cap without sunglasses, unlike many of the previous robberies when he wore shades.

In the Palm springs hold-uphe passed a note to a teller saying he was armed with a gunand demanded money. He then fled on footwith an undisclosed amount of cash.

Based on surveillancevideo and witness accounts, authorities have released composite sketches of the bandit.
He’s described as white with sandy blonde hair. 25 to 35 years of old, at least 5 foot ten, weighing about 160 pounds.

The Snowboarder bandit is on the FBI’s list of most wanted Southern California bank robbers.
