Big Rig Crash Leaves Driver Dead
A truck driver is dead after a crash east of the Coachella Valley.
Authorities were called to the eastbound side of Interstate 10, near Cottonwood Springs Road, around 2:40 a.m Wednesday.
The California Highway Patrol says it found a big rig on fire on the shoulder of the freeway.
The driver was pronounced dead on the scene, but officials have not released their identity.
No lanes were ever blocked.
Authorities continue to investigate.
