Inland Empire gas prices drop again

The average price of gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped today for the 14th consecutive day and 17th time in 18 days, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.208 for a gallon of self-serve regular.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has dropped 16.2 cents over the past 18 days, including 2 cents on Sunday, and is 7.3 cents less than one week ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
However, the average price is 2.6 cents more than one month ago and 22.8 cents higher than one year ago because of an eight-day streak of increases totaling 17.2 cents caused by low inventories from the closures of refineries in Southern California and Northern California for maintenance that immediately preceded the decreases.
Analysts are crediting the decreasing prices to increased supply.
