Driver dies in rollover accident near Desert Hot Springs
A single-car rollover accident claimed the life of at least one person on Wednesday.
California Highway Patrol spokesman John Quintero said the accident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. near the intersection with Varner Road.
The 1997 Honda Civic rolled over the northbound lanes, went off the roadway and ended up 500 feet away from the pavement, down an embankment, he said.
What caused the car the roll is not known.
The driver’s identity is not known.
