More Renovations Planned For Riviera Resort, Spa
After a restructuring of its ownership,the Riviera Resort and Spa in Palm Springs is bracing to make $5 millionin improvements to the property.
They include turning a grass courtyard area into a swimming pool, expanding another pool and adding 3,000square feet to the conference area.
Hotel management said the renovation plans are a sign that business has been good and shouldonlyget better.
“Last year we had a very good year. This year we’re looking at having another great year,” said Geoff Young, vice president andmanaging director of the Riviera. “Year over year over year performance is just so much better andlooking out into the future, you look at citywide conventions the next two years.The city has a very strong convention calendar. The leisure market market is exceptionally strong.”
The latest renovation plans come on the heels of $60 millionin improvements at the resort that were completed in 2008.
