Palm Canyon back open after early morning fire in Downtown Palm Springs

A fire broke out ata vacant shop in a historicalbuildingon the corner of Andreas and Palm Canyon at 12:47 Wednesday Morning.

Cathedral City, Palm Springs, and Cal Fire allresponded to the 3 alarm fire.

It took crews about 45 minutes to knock down the flames.

Firefighters were mopping up hot spots for most of the morning.

Palm Canyon was closed from Amado to Tahquitz. It’s re-opened around 6:45 a.m.

No injuries to report.

The cause is under investigation.
