20-Year-Old Ontario Resident Killed in Interstate Crash
An SUV passenger ejected in a rollover crash on Interstate 10 caused by a rear-tire blowout was identified today as a 20-year-old resident of Ontario.
Joshua Terriquez was declared dead at the scene of the wreck, which was
reported in eastbound lanes about a half-mile east of Date Palm Drive about
7:20 p.m. Thursday. He and two other passengers were thrown out of the vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Five other people who had been in the 2002 Mitsubishi Montero driven by
23-year-old Rudolfo Flores of Pico Rivera were seriously injured when the left
rear tire blew out, CHP Officer Joe Zagorski said. Two other passengers
suffered minor injuries.
