Palm Desert City Council votes to cut pay

Palm Desert City Council voted unanimously to cut their pay in half at Thursday’s Council Meeting.

There pay will now be $22,500 a year. The Council decided to table the discussion about cutting benefits until their next meeting due to a legal issue that the City Attorney wants to address.

In May the City Council appointed a five member committee, which recommended the salary cut and also recommended a benefits cap.
