“Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines”
This weekend nearly two dozen jazz musicians are set to perform at
“Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines”.
The 19th annual festival, starting at 10:30 a.m. and continuing until
dark, will be held at the Idyllwild Arts Academy campus, with the majority of
performances at the Holmes Amphitheater.
“Summer is prime season in Idyllwild,” festival chairperson Marsha
Lytle said. “What the town has to offer is crisp clean fresh air, camping and
hiking trails, relaxing vacation rentals, cabins — and jazz!”
Today’s lineup includes Robin Adler, Mary Stallings with the Eric Reed
Trio, Contagion and the Chuck Alvarez Band.
Sunday’s performers include the Ray Goren Band, Brian Bromberg, Clayton
Cameron and the Jass Explosion, George Kahn and Gilbert Hansen with the P.S. Blues Band.
Profit from the two-day festival will go toward scholarships for
Idyllwild Arts Academy students.
Along with musical entertainment, there will be food and crafts vendors,
as well as informational booths about the academy and sponsors, which
includes the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, CBS Radio, KVCR and EZ-
103.1 in the Coachella Valley.
Adult admission is $65 for a daylong pass.
Children 12 and younger are admitted free.
