“Elvis Tribute Day”
“Elvis Tribute Day” tours and a concert are planned today at the Palm Springs estate where the entertainer spent his honeymoon.
The tribute will include a concert by Elvis impersonator Chris Luna, an
appearance by Presley’s hairstylist and friend Larry Gellar and tours of the
estate at 1350 Ladera Circle.
Known as Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway, the estate plays host to seminars,
corporate parties, filming and weddings.
Elvis leased the estate in 1966, and he and Priscilla spent their
honeymoon there in May 1967. They gathered at the estate and flew to Las Vegas on Frank Sinatra’s jet, got married and flew back to Palm Springs the same day, according to the Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway website.
House tours, given every hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., cost $25. Tickets
for the 4 p.m. concert are $38, and tickets for the tour and concert are $53.
Seating is filled but standing room is available.
Parking will be available at the Annenberg Theater, 101 N. Museum Drive,
and shuttle service will start at 1 p.m. from the theater parking lot.
