Church remembers parishioner and all 2,977 victims of 911

St. Theresa Catholic Church will host a prayer service today to remember victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, including a parishioner who volunteered at the Palm Springs church.
Barbara Keating was among those killed on American Airlines Flight 11 when the jetliner crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York. Keating had been heading back home from Boston.
Palm Springs Deputy Fire Chief John Allen will speak at the 9 a.m. service.
“I am honored to be given the opportunity to speak … about the impact that tragic day had on our country and on the thousands of firefighters from around the United States who served on that day and beyond as the nation mourned,” Allen said.
St. Theresa school principal Cheryl Corey said she was “so pleased that Deputy Chief Allen will join us for this special service to remember the victims — and in particular, our former parishioner Barbara Keating.”
