Skydiver seriously injured at Perris Valley Airport

A Russian woman has been seriously hurt while trying to set a world skydiving record in Southern California.
The woman, whose name was not released, was found unconscious after landing beneath her emergency parachute Sunday afternoon at Perris Valley Airport.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise reports (http://bit.ly/SfrZE8) that she was part of an international team of skydivers who were trying to set several national and world records over the weekend.
The group’s spokesman, Eli Bolotin, told the newspaper that the skydivers wore bat-like wing suits, enabling them to fly forward in tight formation – but without touching – at roughly 65 mph while falling at about the same speed.
Bolotin said the woman had no visible injuries and was breathing on her own when she landed.
