Palm Springs man’s death shocks neighbors
Few details are being released so far on a homicide investigation in Palm Springs.
Police were first called to the 300 block of North Sunrise Way around 5:30 p.m. Saturday about an unattended death.
“I think it’s crazy how something that big can happen at a little complex like this,” neighbor Brittney Devore.
Police lined Cornerstone Apartments in Palm Springs Saturday night into Sunday morning investigating a body found.
“It was pretty intense. Cops everywhere, fire trucks, everything was here,” neighbor Devon Dunnington said.
“I just came home and saw that there was caution tape and cops everywhere and everyone was out on their balconies and I asked what happened and they said they think there was a homicide,” Devore said.
Police determined the man was killed, but they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Neighbors told us this crime is a shock to them.
“I keep to myself but everyone is really nice and I haven’t had any issues with anybody here,” Devore said.
“It’s actually really nice, good community and whatnot,” Dunnington said.
Neighbors pointed out what they believe is a bullet hole on the exterior of the man’s apartment.
“I feel uncomfortable, completely uncomfortable. I’m trying to see what I can do to get out of my lease now,” Devore said.
“I think it’s kind of a one-time incident. It’s as safe anywhere else as you are here,” Dunnington said.
Police are still investigating the case, they have not identified any suspects.
