Twentynine Palms Marine shot in Desert Hot Springs

Police are looking for a gunman who shot an active-duty Twentynine Palms Marine.

Authorities responded to a report of a car-to-car shooting at the intersection of Indian Canyon and 20th Avenue early Thursday morning.

“The victim was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound in the upper body,” said Desert Hot Springs Police Sgt. Brian Link.

The Marine was in his early 20s stationed at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms.

The shooting remains under investigation.

There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle provided by police.
