Two arrested, another wanted after Coachella pursuit
Coachella Police says just after 2:00 am Sunday morning, officers heard a gun shot and saw a dark-colored SUV driving in the area of Frederick St. and Avenue 52.
The SUV lead police on a short chase. The pursuit ended at a cul-de-sac on Calle Camacho south of Avenue 53 where two male Hispanics fled the vehicle.
A passenger, Mario Hernandez, age 34 of Coachella, was arrested at the scene without incident and a recently fired shotgun was found in the vehicle.
A large search of the surrounding area resulted in the arrest of the driver, identified as Arturo Hernandez, age 35 of Coachella.
Hernandez was arrested for evading police in a motor vehicle, possession of cocaine, conspiracy, and negligent discharge of a firearm. Mario Hernandez was arrested for conspiracy and negligent discharge of a firearm.
Police are still looking for a third male suspect.
