Dinah Shore Weekend rolls on
The 23rd Dinah Shore Weekend continues today andtomorrow with a lineup of events in Palm Springs.
Most of the events, which cater to lesbians, are at the Hilton, 400 E.Tahquitz Canyon Way. Dinah Shore Weekend runs through Sunday and includes twonew events — a Saturday celebrity poker tournament to benefit the Human RightsCampaign, and a film festival tonight, according to event spokeswoman MonaElyafi.
The film festival begins at 6:30 at the Hilton. Actress Jill Bennettwill host two episodes of “Second Shot,” written by Nancylee Myatt, Dara Naiand Claudia Cogan, and “Out in the Desert,” a documentary about Dinah Shoreweekend, will be screened.
Entertainment includes DJ Havana Brown, who headlines tonight’s WhiteParty at the Zoso hotel, and pop duo Karmin, who will headline the Monte Carloparty at the Palm Springs Convention Center on Saturday. Other performers arereggae/dancehall artist Diana King and electropop duo Uh Huh Her, Anjulie, K.Rose and Katy Tiz.
Other Saturday events include a celebrity dodgeball game and “GirlsThat Rock,” featuring three bands.
The Dinah Shore Weekend, which started in 1991, is billed as the world’slargest lesbian event and includes dance and pool parties and concerts. Pastheadliners include Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, India.Arie, Ke$ha and Chaka Khan.
