FIND Food Bank’s annual End Hunger Telethon to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Local television personalities will host FIND Food Bank’sannual End Hunger Telethon in Indio and Rancho Mirage today, and Palm Springscity leaders will join in.

Brooke Beare and Kris Long of CBS Local 2 will host the telethon fromthe FIND warehouse in Indio and Agua Caliente Casino. Palm Springs councilmembers Rick Hutcheson and Paul Lewin, Police Chief Al Franz and City ManagerDavid Ready will help answer phones and take donations during the telethon,which airs live from 5:30 to 11 p.m. during commercial breaks.

“We believe it is vital for all desert cities to join together in acommitted coalition to make the Coachella Valley a hunger-free zone,” saidFIND CEO Lisa Houston.

To donate, go to www.findfoodbank.org or text “FIND” to 20222. Peoplecan also drop off canned food in the lobby of Palm Springs City Hall, 3200 E.Tahquitz Canyon Way and the Palm Springs Public Library, 300 S. Sunrise Way,through the end of the month.

FIND uses a network of more than 100 community groups, including soupkitchens, food pantries, shelters, after-school programs and senior centers, todistribute food to more than 80,000 people per month in the Coachella Valley.
