Sexual battery charges filed against Palm Springs doctor
Criminal charges were filed today against a PalmSprings doctor accused of sexual battery against an 18-year-old femalevolunteer at the clinic where he worked.
Daniel Glywn Walters, 66, facesfive misdemeanor counts of sexualbattery, with arraignment scheduled May 2 at the Larson Justice Center,according to court records.
Walters was arrested March 7 at his place of employment, SleepWise Sleepand Behavioral Medicine Center at 1801 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, according tothe Palm Springs Police Department.
The alleged victim, whose name was withheld, contacted police to claimthat Walters had “committed sexual battery upon her” on March 5 and 6 whileshe volunteered as an extern at SleepWise, according to a police statement. Thestatement didn’t elaborate on the alleged offenses.
The woman started volunteering at the center on March 4, police said.
Walters is free on a $3,500 bond.
