Inland Empire gas prices rise by largest amount since February 16th
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire recorded its largest daily increase since Feb. 16 Wednesday, rising 2.3 cents to $3.92.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has risen five consecutive days and is 3.7 cents more than one week ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
However, thanks to 28 decreases in a 31-day span before the increases began, the average price is 11.1 cents less than one month ago and 28.1 cents lower than one year ago
The increasing pump prices follow a rise in wholesale gasoline prices which analysts attribute to record low stockpiles of gasoline stemming from a drop in production caused by both scheduled refinery repairs and unplanned unit shutdowns.
