NFL player arrested twice in one day in Moreno Valley

A former NFL player was facing possible criminal charges today after he was arrested twice in one day in Moreno Valley. The first time was on suspicion of driving under the influence, the second, on suspicion of burglary while allegedly trying to retrieve his impounded car.

Titus Young, 23, of Los Angeles, a former player for the Detroit Lions, was arrested just after midnight Sunday on suspicion of DUI, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

He was at the wheel of Ford Mustang that went into opposing traffic and made an illegal turn in front of a deputy’s cruiser, said sheriff’s Sgt. Lisa McConnell.

Young’s car was impounded, and he was booked at the Robert Presley
Detention Center in Riverside, then released.

Around 3 p.m. that day, he was arrested on suspicion of burglary at 17007 Kitching St., according to sheriff’s booking records.

McConnell told The Press-Enterprise that Young jumped a fence while
trying to retrieve his vehicle from a tow company storage yard.

He was booked again and released on Monday after posting $5,000 bail, according to jail records.
