Palm Springs woman elected president of CA Association of Public Cemetaries
Kathleen Jurasky, manager of the Palm SpringsCemetery District, was elected president of the California Association ofPublic Cemeteries for 2013-2014, the district announced today.
The association promotes the development of public cemetery districtsand their governance “through interactive communication, education andlegislative advocacy,” according to the district.
Jurasky has worked for the district for 16 years, 13 of those asmanager. She oversees operations of the district’s two cemeteries, WelwoodMurray Cemetery in Palm Springs and Desert Memorial Park in Palm Desert.
Jurasky also volunteers as treasurer for the Desert Veterans MemorialAssociation, which holds Memorial Day and Veterans Day services at DesertMemorial Park, according to the district. The Palm Springs Cemetery Districtcovers Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, Rancho Mirage andunincorporated Coachella Valley communities.
