Riverside moves against mobile pot dispensaries
The city of Riverside has shut down its medical marijuana clinics. Now, it’s going after home delivery.
The city announced last week that all brick-and-mortar pot stores in town had closed in the wake of a state Supreme Court ruling that gave Riverside and other communities the right to ban them.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise says on Tuesday, the City Council approved an immediate emergency ban on mobile dispensaries as well.
However, enforcement may be a problem.
James De Aguilera, an attorney representing about 40 marijuana collectives, says the Supreme Court decision didn’t mention mobile dispensaries and he doesn’t believe Riverside can ban them. He says he’ll defend his clients if the city tries to take legal action against them.
