Attempted Abduction, Indio

Two skateboarders aged 12 and 13 reported today that a man driving a van pulled alongside them and asked if they could help him find his dog, in what police were investigating as a possible abduction attempt. Police were called around 8:15 a.m. and went to a Rite Aid store at 47- 985 Monroe St. to interview the youths, who said they were riding west on Avenue 48 west of Monroe Street when they were contacted by a man driving a van in the same direction, Indio Police Department spokesman Ben Guitron said.
