Two transformers tied to day-long power outage in Banning
Two transformers are tied to a day-long outage that initially affected 82 businesses and homes in Banning but most of them had their power restored early Sunday, a Southern California Edison spokeswoman said.
The outage was reported at 6:11 a.m. Saturday and involved the transformers on the southwest corner of Highland Springs Road, SCE spokeswoman Maureen Brown said.
As many as two SCE accounts still remained without power but most of them had their lights turned back on by 12:40 a.m. Sunday, Brown said.
SCE officials are uncertain what caused a problem to the transformers but repairmen are performing tests on them, Brown said.
