Body found in Desert Hot Springs has been indentified
A man whose body was found in Desert Hot Springs earlier this week was identified as a 49-year-old transient.
Jeffrey Schnorr was discovered around 9:15 a.m. Monday by a man who was walking his dog in the desert area east of Ironwood and Verbena drives.
Residents in the area say they heard gunshots just before his body was found.
Authorities say they will consider all possible options in the case, including if the man died of natural causes or if he is a victim of gang violence.
The cause of his death remains under investigation.
