Palm Springs artist to give talk on installation
The Palm Springs Art Museum’s artist-in-residencewill talk about his desert-themed installation tonight at the museum.
Cristopher Cichocki will speak at 6 p.m. in the Hoover Gallery about“Desert Abyss: Cycle in Cycle,” which includes paintings, photography,sculpture, sound and video. The exhibit opened in August and closes Sept. 28,according to the museum.
The exhibit depicts cacti, uprooted trees, sand and fish from the SaltonSea and “examines the past, present, and future of the Coachella Valley fromits ancient underwater origins to the timely environmental issues that are onthe horizon,” according to the museum.
Cichocki lives and works in the Coachella Valley, and his work has beenshown around the world.
