2 Alarm Fire Rips through Union Bank on El Paseo

The Union Bank on El Paseo in Palm Desert erupted into flames just after 9 p.m. Friday night. The fire was fully contained at 10:26 p.m. The building is completely destroyed.

The two alarm fire brought crews in from across the valley to fight the blaze located along the popular shopping district. Heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the single story bank building for blocks, as up to 39 fire fighters tried to control it. Road closures at this hour include, El Paseo and San Louis Rey. Early reports indicate that the fire started inside the building.
