Former city councilman pleads not guilty to fraud

A former Moreno Valley city councilman pleaded not guilty today to state welfare fraud charges. Marcelo Co, 64, resigned from the council in August after being charged
with eight felonies, including welfare fraud and grand theft. He entered the plea at his arraignment at the Riverside Hall of Justice and was ordered back to court Dec. 18 for a felony settlement conference. He is free on $15,000 bail.
