Congressman Raul Ruiz announces legislation aimed at healthcare fraud
Rep. Raul Ruiz, D-Palm Desert, will announce in Palm Springs Monday new legislation designed to protect people from healthcare fraud.
Ruiz will make the announcement at Mizell Senior Center in Palm Springs. Indio Police Chief Richard Twiss and representatives from the AARP and California Alliance for Retired Americans are expected to attend.
According to the Federal Trade Commission, an estimated 1 million people were victims of healthcare fraud in 2011.
