Palm Springs listed among top destinations in the world
Palm Springs is rated as one of the top destinations in the world in recent rankings released by a well known travel guide service.
In Frommer’s 2014 rankings, the city is ranked as one of the top 14 destinations in the world, and one of only three within the United States.
Frommer’s says a big reason Palm Springs ranks so high is that it has developed a reputation as being a trendy, hip place to visit.
“The age demo is much younger here than you would imagine it being,” said Bob Thibault, vice president of marketing for the Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We have a huge group in the 20 to 35 bracket that have really taken on those trendy boutique hotels and are once again making this their get away destination.”
The other two U.S. destinations that made the rankings are Big Island, HI and Richmond, VA.
