Ariz woman, boyfriend accused of taking kids’ cash

Authorities in northwestern Arizona say a Golden Valley woman and her boyfriend are accused of stealing her children’s Christmas money.

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a theft report Wednesday at a home in Kingman.

Two people at the home say they had given $10 to each of their four grandchildren for Christmas.

The grandparents say the children’s mother allegedly took $30 from the three youngest children.

Deputies later located 31-year-old Amanda Sue Rick, who says the children gave her the money so she could get a motel room.

Rick and 29-year-old Cruz Alberto Ruvalcaba both were arrested for outstanding misdemeanor warrants and charges of felony possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of probation and failure to pay fines.
