World Cancer Day

Today is World Cancer Day, and there’s a new warning from the World Health Organization.

Cancer cases are expected to increase 57 percent over the next 20 year.

Within two decades, the World Health Organization predicts new cancer cases will rise from an estimated 14 million in 2012, to 22 million annually.

Developing countries will be disproportionately hit, but health leaders say even wealthier countries will struggle with skyrocketing treatment costs.

The World Health Organization urges more commitment to prevention and early detection.
