Woman, girl killed by man in apparent murder/suicide

Three people are dead after a shooting at the Sunrise Palms community that happened around 8:50 p.m. Thursday. Police said a woman and a juvenile girl were victims in an apparent murder/suicide.

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office hasn’t released their identities, but the coroner did say the man suspected of murder was 47 years old.

Palm Springs police are holding a press conference Friday afternoon and are expected to release more details.

Police found three people dead at the home in the 1200 block of Sunflower Lane when they arrived just before 9 p.m.

One neighbor in the community said she heard about seven gun shots.
