Suspicious device turns out to be fake grenade

CHP closed Dillon Road at Avenue 44 on Friday afternoon after a suspicious device was found in the area.

A Riverside County hazardous device team was called in to investigate. The device turned out to be a fake grenade, according to officials.

It was found by county road crews when they were cleaning around the area.

Dillon Road was reopened around 4 p.m.
