Power being restored in Cathedral City
Southern California Edison reported a power outage in Cathedral City that initially affected thousands of customers.
According to the SCE’s website, the outage was first reported at 12:06 p.m. There were 6,166 customers without power around 1:30 p.m.
As of 3 p.m., the company was only reporting about 600 customers without power in Cathedral City.
Utility crews in the area were working on an equipment upgrade which caused outages for some, but officials said they’re still working to identify the cause of a different outage that affected the majority of the customers.
