Bobby Mao’s now open in Westfield Palm Desert
The recipe for a successful restaurant:
“I think its luck, a good concept, and good food and service,” Bobby Granett said.
You may think you’re on El Paseo, or even in Los Angeles.
“The executives of Westfield have been in here and said they never dreamed they would have a restaurant that looks like this in the front of the mall,” he said.
Bobby Mao’s Kitchen and bar in Westfield Palm Desert. Bobby Granatt owns Bobby G’s in Palm Springs, but this venture is a dual one with his wife, Tina Mao-Granett.
“That’s Bobby and I’m Mao, so we’re both on the sign!” Tina said. “My family has been in the restaurant business forever even back in Taiwan. I have a lot of relatives in New York that own restaurants.”
Bobby and Tina say you’ll get an experience you wont find anywhere else.
“First is the food and the ambiance. We want customers to come into a experience. It’s an upscale restaurant but our prices are affordable,” Tina added.
In fact, everything on the menu is less than $20.
“All your typical Kung Pao dishes, dishes we have but we also have specials like Italian pancakes and Shanghai rice cakes,” Bobby said.
Happy hour runs all day long. Surely a hit with the right cocktails, the right food, and, like Bobby said, a little luck doesn’t hurt.
