Former local athlete charged in rape case back in court today
Former Xavier Prep and College of the Desert student, Brandon Vandenburg was back in court today in Tennessee. Vandenburg is one of four ex-Vanderbuilt football players charged with raping an unconscious female student. Defense attorneys say they want the case against Vandenburg tossed out, citing prosecutors misconduct and missing evidence. It led to an exchange with a metro detective, who said he found a smoking gun concerning the victim who they call Jane Doe. The detective said he found images of the victim being brutally raped on the defendants cell phone. The judge made no decisions today, other than deciding all future filiings in the case would be sealed.
