Twentynine Palms man accused in door-kick burglaries
A Twentynine Palms man was in custody Thursday morning accused of breaking into homes by kicking their front doors open.
The San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department announced the arrest of Allen Sins, 18, of Twentynine Palms Thursday.
Sins is accused in approximately 20 “door kick” style residential burglaries and attempted break-ins over the past month in the city of Twentynine Palms.
Investigators say the suspect in the crimes would force open front doors by kicking them open, causing hundreds of dollars in damage.
The suspect then stole items from homes.
Several of the attempted burglaries occurred when residents were home.
Deputies got a break in the case Wednesday when a Twentynine Palms resident along the 6400 block of West Court Way reported a “door kick” break-in had just happened.
Deputies responded, and in the course of their investigations located Sins at Cactus Drive and Oasis Avenue.
Deputies say they discovered evidence linking Sins to the West Court Way break-in and approximately 20 others.
Sins was arrested and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail where he was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
