Nearly 3,000 pot plants seized from grow site

Authorities in San Bernardino County found an outdoor marijuana grow operation on Wednesday. Officials said the cultivation was taking place off of Highway 18 in Crestline, below Panorama Point.

Investigators seized 2,740 mature plants, which were all about four to six-feet-tall, according to a release from the sheriff’s department.

No suspects were at the grow site, but investigators said they found the typical circumstances; a camp set up for the caretakers, irrigation lines to feed the plants, and trash.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Narcotics Division at 909-890-4840. If you want to stay anonymous, call the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-782-7463.

The sheriff’s Marijuana Eradication Team, D.E.A., the U.S. Forest Service and members of the Campaign Against Marijuana Planting assisted in Wednesday’s operation.
