Palm Springs police investigating after man shot in head

The Palm Springs Police Department is looking for information after an 18 year old man was shot in the head Tuesday night. Officers said the victim was dropped off at Desert Regional Medical Center just before midnight.

The wound wasn’t life-threatening and the man was treated and released from the hospital Wednesday morning, according to police.

Authorities believe the victim was in a vehicle at the time he was shot but the Palm Springs Police Department hasn’t been given a lot of information from witnesses or the victim regarding the circumstances of the shooting.

Officers said they have located the vehicle and preliminary information indicates that the shooting happened in the area of West Rosa Parks Road and Avenida Granada. They said they think the suspects were in a different vehicle that fled the area following the shooting.

They’re hoping the public may come forward with some more information. Anyone who thinks they may know something about the shooting is asked to call the Palm Springs Police Department at 760-323-8116 or Valley Crime Stoppers at 760-341-7867.
