Family of slain Coachella teen seeks justice
The family of a slain Coachella teen gathered Tuesday on his birthday hoping to shed light on the case.
David Sanchez, 17, and Rodolfo Lopez, 32, were shot and killed in Coachella on Easter Sunday two years ago.
His family blew out his candles at the site of his headstone at the Coachella Valley Public Cemetery on what would have been his 20th birthday.
The cousins were killed in a home on Calle Camacho near Avenue 52.
“If there’s anybody that knows anything help us out in closing this case, help us get those answers”. said his sister Kassandra Pena.
The family said Sanchez was looking forward to new beginnings including the birth of his son.
“His son never even got to meet his dad. All he knows about his dad is his picture on a stone”, said his brother Robert Wallace.
Investigators working on the case said it is an open and ongoing investigation and they are currently working leads, but have no new information.
If you have any information, you are encouraged to contact investigator Wortman with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at (760) 393-3526.
