Palm tree fire doused before spreading to nearby homes
Firefighters were able to put out a palm tree fire in the backyard of a Palm Desert home before it spread.
According to Cal Fire they were called out to a home on the 74-600 block of Old Prospector in Palm Desert just after noon.
When they arrived they found 6 palm trees on fire in the backyard area of the home, but were able to douse the blaze before it spread.
Firefighters on scene say there are no injuries, and no threats to structures. They are also trying to determine the cause.
Firefighters will be on scene for about an hour, says Cal Fire.
